Sampling Distribution and Errors

Sampling Distribution :-  A sampling distribution shows every possible result a statistic can take in every possible sample from a population and how often results happen.

Discrepancies between sample statistic and population parameter can arise because of two reasons.

1. Method of selection of sample may lead to bias

2. Even when bias is absent , discrepancies occur as the result of the chance selection of sampling units .

Sampling Errors :- Difference between the sample values and the population values are known as sampling error.

Sampling error can be measured through standard error. Smaller the standard error , smaller the sampling error.
